WILDFIYA
Who We Are
WildFiya is a well-being and lifestyle company that curates joyful and restorative events and experiences for Black and brown womxn to play, learn, and be well. We're on a mission to enrich and transform the lives and well-being of Black and brown womxn from stressed, drained, and unfulfilled to lives of passion, pleasure, and purpose.

Our work is intentional, revolutionary, and grounded in three influencing schools of thought: Black Feminism, Pleasure Activism, and Afro-Futurism. Through culturally relevant affinity spaces, we recognize and honor the intersectional identities of Black and brown womxn because we believe in a world that nurtures our wholeness. Imagine if the world we want to create is fueled by our pleasure and well-being. WildFiya is both a salve and spark to bring that world into our reality.
Our Story
From the name Afiya (a-fee-ya), which in Swahili means health, and more specifically — physical, emotional, and spiritual health and wholeness — comes the name WildFiya (f-eye-ya) which we define as "to be joyfully whole and radically well." And like wildfire, a powerful act of nature, WildFiya makes space for growth, transformation, and works to illuminate, restore, and remove what no longer serves our thriving.

The yams in our logo are just one way we pay homage to bell hooks, Audre Lorde, Octavia Butler, and the many opinionated and nurturing Black women who gathered, dreamed, and bravely faced the monsters that seek to steal our light.
The Problem
We live in a society that actively profits from our stress, poor health, loneliness, and personal dissatisfaction and thus works to keep us stuck in an unhealthy status quo. Black womxn specifically navigate historical traumas, present day assaults on our humanity, and systemic discrimination that diminish our mental and physical health and contribute to disproportional rates of life altering and life threatening diseases.
Our Solution
Playful, restorative, and transformative events and experiences that cultivate lives of passion, pleasure, and purpose.
Doing what we know to do in our bones, let us gather to laugh, heal, evolve, and set ourselves free. Leaning on the wisdom and traditions of Black and indigenous women, our offerings nurture your sense of play, center your well-being, and cultivate a sense of belonging as remedy and resistance to the harmful status quo expectations of our daily lives.
